Brandy Donaghy lives in unincorporated Snohomish County with her family. She is a community organizer and volunteers with a number of local, state, and national organizations.

Brandy credits her mother who was a registered nurse and active with her union in instilling the importance of public service. She is a First Gulf War era U.S. Navy Veteran. ​

Following her time in the military, attended to college via a program currently called the Veterans Readiness and Employment Program, which provides access to job training and education for veterans with service-connected disabilities that require a change in vocation. She studied at Bellevue College and UW Bothell, and graduating with a BA in Business Administration, with a Management Information Systems concentration.

Appointed to the WA House of Representative in 2021, Brandy served through the 2022 legislative session, passing bills related to public health and safety with bipartisan support. After a successful retention campaign in 2022, she returned to continue work on legislation focused on keeping Washingtonians safe and expanding opportunities for working families to thrive through the 2003 and 2004 sessions, and would be honored to earn the opportunity to continue to serve in the 44th Legislative District.

In Olympia, Brandy serves on the House Consumer Protection and Business Committee, as a Vice Chair on the House Innovation, Community Economic Development and Veterans Committee, and as a Vice Chair on the House Transportation Committee. She has also been appointed to and serves on the Legislative Oral History Committee and the Joint Committee on Veterans and Military Affairs.
